  • In November 2006, Mark and Mark Jr. attended the National Conference of Bankruptcy Judges (NCBJ) in San Francisco as well as the fall meeting of the American Bar Association Business Bankruptcy Committee. Immediately prior to the NCBJ, Mark attended a luncheon and educational program of the American College of Bankruptcy.

  • Mark and Mark Jr. are jointly preparing outline materials for Mark Senior’s Spring educational panel at the American College of Bankruptcy, “Who Should Investigate: Who Should Prosecute.” Other panel participants include Neal Batson, former examiner for Enron; Gerald Smith of Lewis and Roca in Phoenix (another past Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the American College) and Corinne Ball, a New York partner in Jones Day and current Chair of the Chapter 11 Subcommittee of the American Bar Association Business Bankruptcy Committee. The Spring educational program and luncheon of the American College is regularly held each year in Washington, D.C. in connection with its annual induction of new members.

  • In October 2006, Mark Jr. participated in a workshop on negotiating tactics sponsored by the Chicago chapter of the Turnaround Management Association.

  • In September 2006, Mark and Mark Jr. attended the Annual Meeting of the Independent Network of Boutique Law Firms (INBLF) which was held this year in Chicago. A number of representatives from Mexican, Central American and South American strategic partner firms in addition to representatives of more than fifty U.S. boutiques attended for networking and educational programs. INBLF has previously scheduled networking and educational meetings in San Francisco, Washington DC and Dallas which Mark has attended as the firm’s designated representative.
